Ashland United Soccer Club is a competitive travel soccer club, we travel a minimum of 30 minutes up to 65 minutes for 4 games a season, as well as having 4 home games. Typically games will be on a Sunday, but they may need to be midweek on very rare occasions to accommodate both team's schedules.
As a club we have all teams participate in a minimum of 2 tournaments a year, they are a great experience for the kids to get to interact with a wide variety of teams outside of their normal schedule. Some tournaments will be "local" tournaments. While others may be a stay to play if you are outside of the 90-minute travel time. While our tournaments are all typically in Ohio so the concern isn't going out of state, unless, your specific coach has found an awesome opportunity for your child to go to an out of state tournament.
We ask your child to attend 2 practices a week, as well as 8 games during their season most games are on Sunday's and practice days will vary based off your coaches choices. If this is something that is not doable, we are always open to conversations regarding any scheduling conflicts, but we also want to ensure your child is learning and getting the same coaching opportunities as all of the other children on their team to give them a more consistent experience
The fees for Ashland United Soccer Club cover the registration, game fees, player cards, a fall & spring tournament and referee fees. Any other tournaments will have an additional fee, ranging from $15-60 per child depending on the number of kids attending, as well as what all the tournament offers.
There is also a fee for your soccer uniform. It is ordered from Soccer.com and is approx $150. You will have to provide cleats & shin guards for your child also. Your child's uniform will be able to be used for multiple seasons, or until they grow out of it. We do cycle our uniforms every 2 years. 2024 is the year for new uniforms.
Each team is expected to do a minimum of 1 indoor session of soccer at Lodi Soccer Complex or in Medina during the winter months, This just helps the players to still be touching the ball during the year and not forgetting their skills or the hard work they put in during the spring, summer & fall months. During the winter some teams will still have practices depending on the coaches availability, and facilities that are able to be used during that time.
If your child is playing on a team that is not their birth year *playing up* the club expectation is that child must primarily roster on the age-appropriate team. Ie. if they are 2012 birth year playing on a 2011 team, they must dual roster with the 2011 team & the 2012 team.
Exceptions will only be made per board discretion as disclosed in the club guidelines & bylaws.
